Day Camp Leaders

Day Camp + Fun Fari 2021: 29 June – 2 July

Young Leaders and Adult Volunteer information & registration

If you are in grade 8 or older, you’re eligible to register as a leader. If you have been on Day Camp or Fun Fari before you know how much fun the week is. If not don’t worry we will train you and match you with a more experienced team leader for the week.

Day Camp is a program of fun and excitement within a Christian environment for kids in grades 1-5. It is a time of discovery and adventure in a bushland setting. Day Camp is the fun of – hikes, craft, the thrill of cooking your own food over a campfire, games and making things using what nature provides.

How does Day Camp work?

This year Day Camp begins with a commissioning and worship service on Sunday 27 June at 10 am at the Corinda Pony Club at the end of Rinora St, Corinda. The whole family is invited to attend as we commission the leaders and ask God to bless the camp.

Day Camp runs for four days 29 June – 2 July. It is held at Corinda Pony Club at the end of Rinora St Corinda. We will begin each day a 9 am and finish at 3 pm.
All Leaders must sign themselves in each morning and out each afternoon.

What about safety?

Leaders are teamed with an assistant and are assigned a small group for the duration of the camp. The Day Camp directors and adult helpers are there to support the work of the small group leaders.

All leaders work together to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment for all the campers.

In this current COVID-19 society we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of all Day Campers, Leaders and volunteers. Hand hygiene stations will be located at all activities and more often routine cleaning of equipment. This year we will not cook lunches or dampa over the team fire. We ask that parents/carers provide a cold lunch for the day, such as sandwiches or salad etc. as you would for school. The dampa activity has been modified to 1 day in the week the teams will be supervised throughout the activity to maintain safety for all.
